6 September 2008- Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar, Raffles City, City Hall, Singapore 6 September 2008 Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar is locate at Raffles City, City Hall, Singapore, Basement 1 Unit 44E. Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar concept is similar like Marche. When you enter Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar, the staff will give you two entry card and one reserved card tag. Please take note that, you are not to lost the card as it will be charging S$50 penalty. The staff will bring you to your seat. After that, you can leave your seat and walk around the food bazaar to choose the Japanese food that you like. It cost from S$2.50 onwards. When you want to order food, just pass your entry card to the staff and they will store the value inside. After you finish eating, you need to bring the two entry card and reserved card tag to make a payment at the cashier before you can leave the place. Overall, it is a nice place to dine with but sometime it could get crowded during peak hours like lunch and dinner time.
5 September 2008- Food from Malacca, Malaysia 5 September 2008 Melaka mean Malacca in English is the state of Malaysia which is about 3-4 hours from Singapore. Melaka is the oldest town and rich histories in Malaysia. Melaka was under control by Portuguese, Dutch and British which left Melaka has a rich heritage. If you are into Historical, Melaka is the right choice for you. There are many buildings like Fort A Famosa, St. John's Fort, St. Peter's Church, St. Paul's Church, Christ Church, Francis Xavier Church, Stadhuys Building and Cheng Hoon Teng which is the oldest Chinese Temple in Malaysia. You could also visit Jonker Street. Jonker Street is famous for it carnival-like atmosphere during weekend nights and Portuguese Square where you can experience Portuguese Culture. There are shopping mall in Melaka too. In Melaka, its offers many great food like the Nyonya-Baba cuisine, The Laksa, Chicken Rice Ball, Chandol and the Portuguese egg tarts. For my recommend, you should try Chicken Rice Ball and the Chandol! The Chicken Rice Ball which is very famous for the Chinese tourists. Their Chicken is very tender and the Rice-ball is very special and tasty. For the Chandol, it is very sweet and yet very fully and the shop which sell chandol makes you reflect that you are now back to the 50's. So, if you are planning to travel to Malaysia, you can consider travel to Melaka. You will not be regret to travel to Malaka. Please remember to bring some cash with you as not all the food place accept Credit Card.
4 September 2008- A&W @ Batam, Indonesia 4 September 2008 A&W which is my favourite fast food during my childhood times and I am sure many people will agree especially Singaporean as A&W had closed down all the outlets in Singapore in the early 90's. Many of you might missed the Waffles ice-cream, the curly fries and most of all, the A&W root beer!! You can travel to Batam, Indonesia to enjoy A&W again!! To travel to Batam, Indonesia from Singapore, you could buy the ferry ticket from the Fabourfront ferry terminal. I recommend Penguin company. It cost about S$60-70 for two-ways ferry. You could change the curreny in Singapore or Batam itself (S$1- RP6000). Please bear in mind that Batam is one hour difference from Singapore. Let say Singapore time is 0700 hours, Batam time will be 0600 hours. It will take about 45-60 minutes to reach Batam depending on the weather condition. Please remember to check your passport that you need at least 6months vaild before you can enter to any countries include Batam. There is no need visa for Singaporean and Malaysian but you are allow to enter in Indonesia for only 15days. A&W is locate at the ground floor in Mega Mall Batam Centre just opposite the Indonesia custom (Arrival/Deperture centre). There are many choices to choose from. The staffs speak Behasa Indonesia (Malay) and basic English. If you do not speak Behasa Indonesia and happen that the staff could not speak English, do not worry, you can point the picture to them and they will be happy to serve you. You will be delight in travel to Batam for shopping and at the same time enjoy the food from A&W. There are many shops and attraction around the Batam, so you wont be bored just to have A&W in Batam. =)

There are more than 50 shops which sell food/drink/desserts which makes you very tempted of many choices to choose from. I recommend White Dog Cafe. The cafe is locate at Level 2 unit 131/132. It near to Area E/F. When you enter to the cafe, the staffs are friendly and they will greet you. The menu is very tempting which makes you feel like trying all the food. It offer Western, French and even Japanese food. You can go for their main course during lunch hours as it is much worth it! I recommend you to try their Mushroom soup!! Their soup is very appetizing. You could also try their beef steak or baked rice. If you are Oreo lover, you can order their Oreo drink! It is very affordable and the environment at White Dog cafe is nice with cheery decor and you could able to see Sentosa island and the sea view. It is a nice place to bring your loved one to enjoy. Smarties ice cream full lots of colourful Smarties and rich in Chocolate and Vanilla. You can buy Nestle- Smarties Ice Cream at all Supermarket selling of S$7.80 per tube. It is worth buying and eating!!

From here, you could able eat differences kind of Chinese food like Fried Rice, Dou Fu, Claypot Chicken and more. Their popular main dish would be Roasted Duck. Their Roasted Duck is Crispy and very Q! When you first bite, you feel like eating again!! The staffs from Teahouse The Asian Kitchen is friendly and polite to the consumer.
